As a sofa it's dimensions are 180 x 87 x 82 cm, and as a sofa bed it's 180 x 102 x 38 cm.
It comes packaged in a box that is also not too big and difficult to transport. It should fit easily on a bakkie or truck or even inside a hatchback 4x4 BMW.
It's also very simple to set up. Simply remove it from the packaging, then look in the bottom: There's a zipper that you unzip to take out the legs.
Once you've taken out the legs, zip it up again.
Now you simply screw the legs into the holes provided.
Now your sofa can stand on its legs. On the seating part, you will see black strips of cloth. Remove them to expose velcro strips.
Onto these strips you stick the armrest cushions that come included with the sofa.
And that is that. Your sofa is now set up. You can now add your own cushions or throws to it.
If you'd like to use it as a bed, simply push the back rest forward until you hear it click. If you now take it back again, it will go all the way back until it's level with the seating surface.
How comfortable is it as a bed? Well, honestly my first impression was that it's not good. It's like there's not enough stuffing in the seating area for it to be comfortable enough as a bed. I thought I might have to put a matress on it, and just use this sofabed as a base.
But, lo and behold, the next time I tried it as a bed to rest on, I liked it.
I also like to lay on it when it's in a sofa position. I like it now. I think this is one of those things you might not like that much at first, but then you love it more and more.
It's also quite comfortable to sit on. The back rest comes up high enough to support you comfortably.
Note: The weight limit of this sofabed is 200 kg. So don't try to squeeze five, really heavy people who weigh 130kg each, onto it at the same time.
I also don't think it's strong enough for children to jump on and climb all over the back rest and use it as a jungle gym. They'll probably break it as well as the wooden supports in the seating part.
But for civilized, calm people, it should provide some years of good sofa service.
